  • Luke Bornheimer Note: These are mockups I did for features I would like to see Path to add to their apps. I do not work for Path nor have I ever worked for Path. An idea I have for Path: Private 1:1 sharing from another user's Path. Complete mockup of the UX/UI flow here As an active user of Path, there are times when I want to share a photo, video or thought with a specific person and not all of my Path friends. Since this isn't currently possible, I decided to mock up how I thought it could work and even added two additional actions: a phone icon and a FaceTime icon, which would allow you to leave voice and video messages when the user was asleep or not on WiFi, respectively. Full UX/UI flow here What do you think? Comment here or follow me on Twitter and @reply me with your feedback.
  • Garrett Gee Great concept. I've wanted it : )
  • Georg Bednorz Yah! That's gr8!
  • Luke Bornheimer @Garrett Gee Thanks! What do you think of the UX/UI flow? Anything that you'd change? @Georg Bednorz Thanks!
  • Coty Beasley Looks great and I think this is a great way to maintain consistency and ease throughout the app. It would be nice to be able to view/send a mini link to a non-user for desktop/mobile viewing (the same as when a user is mentioned and you get an email). That way users not on path etc could still view it. Now, would there be a password? Would the link be secret because of the string of credentials passed via the url? Those are still issues I'm not sure how to tackle, if they're even an issue.
  • Luke Bornheimer Interesting idea, @Coty Beasley. Thanks for commenting and the compliment on the idea/design. My gut says that this type of feature should be limited to instances where both people are Path users, so that there is no issue with leaking, passwords, etc. Also, having the ability to share something privately with a non-Path user might create confusion or UX issues with people not being sure if (and how) their message would be delivered. That said, it would be a nice way to pull in new users with a very compelling and engaging shared moment. Thanks again for commenting and for the compliment!
