  • Pete Avey Hi Guys, I'm looking for some heavy criticism on my new portfolio, Its been in development for some time but most elements have been made on the fly. I'm looking for tips on how I can improve it, one thing I'm currently looking to do is replace the portfolio with a slider and customising each project presentation rather then showing a flat visual. The site is still under minor development View my site here My Twitter Thanks Guys
  • Seyi Ogunyemi @Peter Avey Congrats on finally releasing it! Only minor critique would be the texture in the portfolio section. It doesn't seem to quite fit in and cheapens your otherwise excellent work a wee bit ("subtle" patterns are overused these days). If there has to be a texture, perhaps one that's more unique and understated would work better. That's just nit-picking anyway. Looking good. :)
  • Pete Avey Thanks @Seyi Ogunyemi I do agree, it was kinda put in there last minute but it also helps break it up, might have to go for something a little more subtle?
  • James Alford looks really nice. I personally feel that the portfolio call to action isn't necessarily needed, i know it messes with the sizing and spacing of the header without it but i just feel it isn't really needed? Then again i love simple :) but looking really nice and clean!
  • Pete Avey Thanks @James Alford, I feel the CTA engages the user when they first visit the website which was its purpose. I guess only time will tell if it works or all. Thank you :)
  • Timothy Whalin Looks really great! Main thing I disliked is when you hover over something in the portfolio section, the white turns to a dark gray. But if you mouse over a few very quickly, it flashes at you. Poor UX and didn't make me want to keep looking at your work. I'd say just turn off the turning the section dark and it'll still look great.
  • Pete Avey Hi @Timothy Whalin I've turned it off, what do you think?
  • Timothy Whalin @Peter Avey Pfew. Much better. :)
  • Pete Avey @Timothy Whalin lovely cheers pal! I guess it wasn't needed.
  • Daniel Immke Oh god, this makes me feel so bad about my portfolio in process. I absolutely love it.
