• Kristin Lasita Maybe this is my Northern Craziness but I wish the main logo was a little more different than the rest. I know the star is highlighted for a state, but I sat here trying to figure out what state was "SDU" for way too long. Overall I love the style, just minor thought from my perspective.

• Mason Phillips These are great. All the elements work really nicely together. Not sure about the stars though—why is highlighting the alphabetical order of the states particularly important? I don't know if this is possible or even makes sense, but the stars might be more meaningful if they represented the geographic locations of the states relative to each other. So Florida would get the bottom right star highlighted, Arkansas the top left, etc. I dunno, just a thought.
• Jillian Adel I second both @Kristin Lasita & @Stewart Scott-Curran. I would also like to add that the use of pencil + mouse, just seems outdated to me now in the idea of design tools..... maybe that's just me & everyone works with different things, but I feel like a Wacom stylus is more the tool than a mouse... Just my take! But it looks great!
• Chris Rushing @Jillian Adel Totally get what you mean but my idea for this included more than just working on the computer... that's why i wanted an analog tool as well as a digital tool. I still never got into the wacom thing anyways... haha I'll explain the project more as i develop it a bit more. Still playing with options for how the name sits with it as well. Thanks all!

• Philip Clark I love the ambition here. Maybe you could have a playoff on Dribbble to come up w/ an icon for each state to replace the stars. So if I'm from Texas, I might design an icon for TX, and try to get other texans to like it. That way people from each state really take ownership over their chapter of the union.

I wish I was from any of those states so I could participate...but I'm basically an honorary Texan :P @Jeremy Pettis I don't think that I'd agree with you that mouses/mice are timeless/iconic of being a designer at all. No technology in design is really timeless...besides the pencil, I'd argue. But that's a discussion for another forum & day maybe. @Chris Rushing Definitely looking forward to hearing more backstory & seeing what these are going to be used for!
• Una Kravets wow these are great :) i like the saturated versions. And I like the idea of incorporating the pencil because that's a timeless tool. It seems like everyone has contrasting opinions, though - so do what you want! you're definitely doing it right!
